I used to have a friend with a very strange hobby . Her favorite thing to do was to Dress up like a gypsy in robes and scarves, set up a stand outside school, and offer free love tarot readings. Sometimes, she would do it in a fake, corny accent, while other times she would simply be herself. She never charged a single cent, although sometimes she would ask to barter for things if she saw someone wearing something she liked. One time she got a free necklace out of it, for example, and another time she got a new pair of shoes.

I think the real thrill for my friends was being able to give out the free love tarot reading and get people’s reactions. I’m not sure she really believed her psychic readings were authentic, but her customers definitely did. Sometimes they would blush as she told them things about themselves that they thought were secret. Other times, they would laugh or stare. Occasionally, they would get really angry at her.
